Last week, I took a whole week off from work. The past few months had consumed so much of my time and energy in just work alone. I was hoping to spend some time on my hobbies and most importantly, I wanted to study for my Microsoft AI-102 exam that was on last Saturday.
Yesterday, my team and I at IT Society hosted Introduction to Git and GitHub Workshop at MMU Cyberjaya. Rowena, who works as an Implementation Engineer at GitHub, has been gracious to come from afar to conduct the workshop for us.
I am sure some of you are familiar with working with XAMPP especially if you have worked with PHP and MySQL before. Having been a XAMPP user myself, making a move to WAPP wasn't so hard. There were however a few workoarounds that I had to lookup and figure out to come up with a successfull PHP and PostgreSQL development environment setup for a project I am working on.
Sometime earlier this year, I got looped in an email from the Director of WWCode KL who was looking for volunteers on behalf of UNESCO's Hour of Code program director. The program wast to be held in conjunction with Women's Day. The aim was to have several women volunteers attend to primary school girls to guide them in a game of code blocks where they can learn basic concepts of programming. I enlisted as volunteer and after that, there were several Skype meetings with UNESCO's science program director, Ai, a school teacher, Mdm. Fadzillah and three other volunteers. We decided to conduct the program in the afternoon of 27th of February at SK Tiara Permai.
